Background I'm experimenting with Snow Leopard under Parallels 11 on OSX 9, using Nikon Scan to scan slides, Appleworks to index them, and Photoshop to edit. I find that the scanner is "blipped" - it stops momentarily - whenever I type a character in Appleworks. My guess is that using Appleworks (or other program) causes the data transfer from the scanner to the computer, via USB, to slow down, so the scanner has to stop until the data gets through. Photoshop causes even more serious 'blips'. The scans themselves do not seem to be effected, at least I can't see any problems, but I still don't like those blips. Stopping a scanner mid-scan must cause some degradation of the image, however slight. Ques Is there a way to improve data speeds over USB within a guest Snow Leopard?
