I have Windows Server 2008 running within Parallels Desktop 5 with an expandable disk size of 384GB. The size reported within Windows is under that 384GB but the size of the VM on the Mac is over 1TB.

Why does this happen? The Windows disk has filled up periodically from SQL logs which have then been truncated. Does the physical VM not reflect this and somehow expanded to more than what is configured?

How can I fix this? Should I use the Parallels compress tool to reduce the size?

    Thanks for reading.
