Shortcut Icons Gone

    I am a very new Parallels user.
    I am running Windows XP on my G5 which seems to run very well - early days however.
    At the first running of XP - I created a few shortcuts to some MS Office apps [Word, Excel etc]. Everything worked well.

    After quitting Parallels Desktop and then returning to it later - all of the shortcut icons on the desktop had disappeared. Also - the MS Office ones were no longer in the MS Office folder in Program Files.

    Any help appreciated.

    Hello Gray,

    Lets try reinstalling Parallel tools by completely removing them and install them once again. This will give us some new drivers that was not present previously.

    Kindly follow these steps detailed below.

    1) Log in to Windows => Go to Control Panel => turn off Windows Firewall and also Anti virus.
    2) Please disable the Parallel Internet Security (Kaspersky).
    3) Go to Control Panel => Go to Add or remove Programs => Remove Parallel tools completely.
    4) After the Parallel tools are removed then on the Menu bar click on Virtual machine.
    5) Click on install Parallel tools => Click on Continue and proceed with the installation.
    6) This is a time consuming process so i would request you to kindly keep a check if you get the confirmation message that " Parallel tools are successfully installed."
    7) Restart the Windows Operating System and the Mac.

    Please reply us the status of the issue.
