I've created a shared folder in Windows that points to a particular Mac folder. (Configuration > Sharing > Share Mac > Custom Folders) I'm interested in using Acronis True Image on the PC side to backup files on the Mac side. In Acronis, I can select the network drive (\\mac\documents\), but it can't access the files because it's asking for username/password to authenticate. This is not a real high priority for me, but is there a particular username/password combo I should try to see if Acronis will connect? I've tried both Mac and Windows logins, and neither worked for me. Thanks, Ernie
Hi @ErnestT1 , please help us with the screenshots of the Windows requiring a password, we will check and help you out.
Attached shows Acronis True Image 2018 up in the foreground. I'm selecting a source for the backup, and selected "Mac" from the Network options. (You can't select a drive letter in Acronis.) When I do, Acronis asks for credentials. I suppose the process is using its own Windows User, which doesn't have access to the share. I tried entering both Windows and Mac credentials, which didn't work. In the background along the left is the Windows Explorer (in Parallels), showing the "Mac" network share. Again, it's not a big deal if a solution is not easily available, but I thought I'd ask.
