hello just recently installed the trial as i'm thinking of moving from an old intel mac over to an m1 and will lose bootcamp in the process. so far though, i'm not really having the greatest of joy using parallels. one issue i'm having is that certain file types on osx, regardless of wether parallels is running or not, have the two red vertical bars over them. i've just noticed it so far with .mkv and .ovpn files. the parallels red vertical lines symbol is quite ugly and garish in the first place but when it's repeated all over my icons, it's just a bit obnoxious. is there any way i can fix this? thanks
i've sorted this thanks to the below post from 2008 in a similar thread, it's kind of disgusting this is default behaviour that needs to be turned off; this seems to be quite common with parallels.. i've seen many threads from frustrated users that don't want any kind of cross functionality between the two systems, sharing applications, folders, etc - why don't you turn this stuff off by default and let users opt-in if they want it. settings are slightly different these days and the 'windows applications' folder is now in ~/Library/Parallels/Applications Menus
