Just about the only thing I run in WinXP via Parallels on my MacBook Pro is GSAK. It runs fine but I always have a very difficult time getting it to connect to my Garmin GPSmap76S using a Keyspan USB/Serial adapter. When I attache the Keyspan (or any usb/serial adapter) should I choose to have it connect to my Mac or the Virtual Machine? Then what are the settings in Parallels that will make it available to the applications? Do I need to select the USB Device or the Serial Port Device? Help! This is really driving me nuts. Thanks in advance for any help you pros out there can offer.
Hello Keith, when message appears suggesting you to connect device to your Mac or Virtual Machine, you should select 'Virtual Machine'. Device's drivers should be installed automatically after connection, and GPS device should become visible under COM port in Device Manager.
