I had 2 vm's going. Both over a 4g disk image w/384 meg ram. 1 was XP-SP1 and the other was SuSE 10.0. Both are bridged to en0 w/different MAC addresses.

I also had iMail, X and Safari going and the box locked up and told me to turn its power off. (I also had an external USB disk attached, but it wasn't in use.) When I restarted the box, the desktop came up and the twirling beach ball appeared. After 20 minutes it had not disappeared.

I ssh'd into the macbook and saw that process 0 (in unix I'd call it init) was consuming a lot of CPU, but nothing else was going on.

I finally gave up and bounced the box again. The second time it came up clean.

    Has anyone else encountered this?
