Every time I have created a Vista machine or Windows 7 machine in Parallels I have all sorts of RPC communication issues with Active Directory. I am not able to join the VMs to the domain because of RPC timeout problems. I have an XP VM and it is able to join with no problems. I have taken the VM that does not join the domain on my mac, converted it to a VMWare image and loaded it on an XP machine that has VMWare Workstation on it, and the RPC issues go away. I have also taken the same VM Image and loaded it into VMWare Fusion and I see the same RPC issues I see in Parallels. I believe that it is some config I need to change on my mac that is blocking RPC communications. I have allow all incomming communications selected in the firewall settings on mac os x. I do not have any third party firewall installed that I know of. I do not have any AV software installed. Has anyone else ran into this and know of a workaround? I have seen some posts about people not being able to join a domain with Vista or Windows Server 2008 but have not found any solutions.
