    Hello everyone,

I'm posting here because I'm curious how many others were left in a similar boat as me with the 2X Operating System and the Remote Application Server, or if anyone had any suggestions on what direction to search for a solution. Basically the removal of support for the 2XOS in version 14.0.0 of the RAS was a bit of a shock for the company for which I work and has left us looking for alternative solutions that might be able to integrate with the 2X RAS. The company originally picked up 2X last year as a solution to the end of life cycle for Windows XP. Since the initial purchase a transition has been made for most of the users over to the full 2X package with the 2XOS managed by the RAS. Currently the combination of these two products has been rolled out as a thin client solution for multiple different locations and over 150 workstations working with two monitors a piece.

Now, since the operating system portion of the package has been removed, we have to re-evaluate our options and determine what all can be salvaged from the new systems that have been put into place. Our machines are mostly set up to PXE boot but, in several circumstances, need to pull the OS from a flash drive. Regardless, the user's experience is entirely controlled through the RAS, and it would be great if we could keep the same functionality in future solutions. Some potential options, such as the Chromium OS running a 2X plug-in, make use of the RAS and provide a simple and free base system to work with but unfortunately don't fit the needs of a multiple monitor workstation. I imagine that our company cannot be the only ones who have ended up in this type of circumstance, and am curious what, if any, solutions others are pursuing.

Thanks in advance for any advice,

    - Alex
