I need to know how to remove and reinstall Windows XP from my Parallels Desktop for Mac 4.0 virtual machine. The problem is I have a "Microsoft Privacy Center Update" window stuck on my desktop that just appeared one day when I booted up, and I can't get it off. The start button and all the icons on my desktop are hidden. When I try to close the window, I get an error message. (see screenshot captures attached) The only way to get out of it is to go through the credit card purchase process for the "updates" for software I never purchased in the first place. Is this some kind of virus "malware", or "scamware"?? I tried removing and reinstalling Parallels Desktop, but that didn't get rid of it. Is there free documentation somewhere that will walk me through the complicated process of wiping the virtual machine completely from my Mac, reinstalling it and Parallels Desktop and then Windows? Thank you.
