Installed Parallels 11 on iMac, then Windows 10 on virtual. I have router D-Link DIR 615. Can i add some rule to my router to access via RDP to my virtual Windows 10?
Hi Viktor, Could you please provide us more info on your question and the steps you are trying to accomplish, so that we can help you better.
Hi Viktor, If you want to connect to VM via rdp from outside of your home network then you should configure port forwarding on the router. here are basically 2 options: 1. VM network is in bridged network. In this case you should just check VM IP and configure forwarding of port TCP 3389 on your router to VM IP address (don't forget to enable RDP and open port 3389 in firewall on the windows side) 2. VM network is in shared mode and you are running Parallels Desktop Pro (if not Pro, then switch to bridged network and use option 1). In this case on the router you should forward TCP to your Mac IP address, then you should go Parallels Desktop Preferences (2 red bars in Mac menu bar > Preferences) > Network Shared > add a rule in "Port forwarding rules" (note this settings are available in Parallels Desktop Pro only). TCP 3389 > VM_name/VM_IP 3389. So router will forward request to Mac, PD will forward it to VM. So now, you should be able to access VM from any device using your Public IP address (IP address assigned to you by network provider)
