Apologies if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find it. I have the option of running Windows XP, XP Pro, Vista, (or 7 if I purchase a new license) within Parallels for Mac. What are the pros/cons of each? Suggestions on which runs the fastest with the least problems? I will primarily be using Windows for running Adobe programs - Flash, Captivate, Dreamweaver, etc. Many thanks in advance.. Amy
Windows 7 is better than Vista, if only for the fact that it's a bit faster and uses less ressource. XP is faster than 7 from all I hear but it's around 10 years old. Windows 7 is way easier to use, in particular for someone who's been using a Mac. Windows 7 comes in multiple flavors. In particular, there's a 64 bit version and a 32 bit version. I doubt that you'll find any performance difference on the Virtual Machine between the two. All in all I'd get a cheap 32 bit Home Premium Windows 7 version and install that.
