Real Myst Games

    I installed this game successfully but when I try to run it I get an arror message stating "no suitable rendering devices found"

    Does anyone have any ideas?

    Mac Pro 2.66 3GB Ram Mac OS X 10.4.9

    I thought Myst used 3D graphics acceleration. If so, why bother trying, it doesn't work. You did read the manual and search the forum, right?

    If it doesn't use 3D, sorry for the flame.

    The original Myst games should work fine. They used pre-rendered 'movies'.

    RealMyst, on the other hand, is real-time 3D generated. Which means you need 3D acceleration, which Parallels is missing.

    So if you want to play Myst in Parallels, go get the original.

    ..or, get realMyst for Mac.

    If you want to play Myst, find the Mac versions. Myst has almost always been Mac/Win dual platform. Unfortunately, the earlier versions were for Classic, so unless you want to run an emulator for that (e.g. Sheepshaver) I guess you could go Parallels and run Windows version inside.

    BTW, it's nice to see another dude playing Myst. I'm just sayin'...
