I have been having major problems with my XP-SP2 VM shutting down on my MBpro. After a clean install of everything it will work for a short but but after a few of these shutdowns it gets worse and worse until it wont even startup anymore without a shutdown during the XP boot process.

FYI when I say shutdown what happens is the VM will be running and then it will go back to the VM overview settings page without any warning and the VM session will have ended.

Is there any debug logs I can access to see what is going on?

    Regards,

    RJ

After further testing this also happens with a windows 2k3 server VM. Is there any logs that I can grab that show why the VM stopped?

    Thanks,

    RJ

    I'm seeing the same problem.

I had no stability problems with previous betas, but since upgrading to beta 6, my Windows XP VM would run for no more than 30 seconds before suddenly quitting back to the settings screen. No errors. Nothing in /var/logs/*. I configured a new VM with all the default settings for Windows XP, re-installed XP, installed SP2, installed the Parallels Tools and everything seemed stable, however after quitting/restarting Parallels I'm back to the VM bailing out after a few seconds.

If I hit f8 during boot and just let the VM sit at the XP boot options screen, it runs fine. The VM shutdowns occur at a random time after the chkdsk - sometimes immediately afterwards, sometimes after the screen is resized, and sometimes 10-15 seconds after the full Windows desktop is displayed.

There are no debug logs that I can find, but I have run a kdump/ktrace on the Parallels PID until the VM closes, which didn't really tell me anything. ....
