Sorry if I'm beating a dead horse, but I'm having problems with Quickbooks 2002 running in a Windows XP (sp2) guest on my Macbook Pro.

    1. I have the Quickbooks data file on a file server, available via a Samba machine running FreeBSD. Not only is the access slow as molasses, Quickbooks is always updating, reading, or something or rather virtually everytime I make a change. On a regular PC with XP, it's almost instantaneous.

    2. When I enter a customer's credit card info, the expiration date, no matter what I put in, shows up as December 2007. Again, this doesn't happen on a PC with XP.

    3. When quitting Quickbooks, it takes forever. This may be related to 1, but sometimes I wonder if Quickbooks has crashed.

My gut feeling is that Parallels has a tough time with accessing Samba shares. It does work, but is slow as heck. Is there something I can do to boost the performance? About the only reason for my using Parallels was so that I can use Quickbooks on my Mac and clear off the PC from my desk. I'd hate to go back to juggling two computers and regretting the purchase of an otherwise fine program - Parallels.
