I use Parllels, my friend uses Bootcamp. I like Parellels because I can simply open it in a window. I am aware that many of you use both. Forgive my ignorance, but if Parallels works, then why would I need Bootcamp?

like a hole in your shoe on a rainy day

    Bootcamp is beta still
unsupported by the Apple Stores for example

some laptop users like it in order to save battery hours when working in WINXP sp2

    Why

Well, boot camp is free. That's a bonus.

I believe that I have read that bootcamp runs windows faster than parallels as well, since it's only one OS at a time.

I have also heard that Bootcamp is more stable.

If you want to play games which use DirectX Video, you need bootcamp. If you want to use VISTA with all the eye candy, you need bootcamp. Otherwise Parallels works fine.
