I have a new imac quad core, i7, with 8 gb of ram. I"m trying to run a program that will take "all it can get" on the windows side? I didn't know how that worked since the machine doesn't really have 8 cores, but according to the specs will "act as if it has 8 cores." Again, any feedback, or help would be greatly appreciated.

Since the i7 acts as if it has 8 cores, should I tell parallels to use 4 cores when setting up the new virtual machine?

Also I'm giving it half of my ram, and disabling 3-d graphics. Any feedback or suggestions?

By the way, I"m running windows xp.

I"m trying to get this running asap, so any help you can provide will be great appreciated.
