My second question is about sound and sounddrivers in parallels. The main reason for me to run parallels is to use some oldschool music and sounddesign-related software applications for xp, that I havent found to be transprogrammed for mac yet/or never. Ive had them reinstalled in parallels, but I have experienced sound issues. These programs are not specially demanding for my hardware, but to use them optimally, I prefer to let them run through my external soundcard device, whis is connected through usb. It doesnt work. Now, i have the soundcard unit + drivers allready installed on macos, but I need them to run under xp in parallels. (m-audio). I tried to install them, but all that happens is, that I get an icon on my task bar, but thats about it. I cant go into configurations with it. I tried to open one of my music programs and it registers an alternate sounddriver, but sais it cant locate it anywhere. Now, since the soundcard is connected through usb, I thought it would show in the parallels-usb commander. It doesnt. The question. All I have to work with is the integrated intel audio driver. 1Is this driver the same as the designated driver in Macos?- in that case my external soundcard already..? Or is that a specially designed driver for paralles? 2Is there anypoint in installing alternate sounddrivers on parallel Xp? I cant figure out whether this part of the operating system is also emulated or not? 3The most annoying part. Using the intel sound in xp is still ok, but I experience sudden sound crashes when I use my programs. One sound crash in one program, stalls the rest of them, which means reboot. I figured these crashes were due to the lack of proper drivers, but now im not so sure. 4Is parallels at all recomandable for audio editing? (none of my programs need more than 256 mb ram to operate). I cant figure out why it doesnt work. Yeah, again Im hoping for answers..
