    Hi all,

I'm running Parallels Desktop 8 (Build 8.0.18354) on a Late 2012 MacBook Pro with Retina Display and have a OS X 10.8.3 Mountain Lion VM. This VM has 3 discs (each of them 64 GB expanding discs). Although those discs do use only between 30GB and 2GB the PVM file is 223 GB in size.

If I open the PVM file the 3 discs are showing up:
First disc (with the OS) takes 152 GB, inside the VM it only takes 32 GB
Second takes 67 GB, inside the VM 10 GB
Third takes 1,87 GB, inside the VM 0,5 GB

If I try to reclaim space it would only reclaim 16KB.

Why is this PVM file (or the hdd files inside the PVM package) this large? I have a lot of Snapshots, but those take 1,6 GB disc space in total.

Is there a way to reduce the size of the PVM file? Please advise.

    Thanks.

You have to remove the snapshots before you reclaim any disk space.
