I've pre-ordered Parallels for Mac OS but I'm currently not using Beta 4. There are just too many kernel panics that kill the OS. That is something I simply cannot tolerate. I need my MacBookPro daily for work. If I had to spend 3-4 hours re-installing OS X right now it would simply be really bad! I know Parallels is working hard. I simply request that ALL WORK STOP on things like the UI or putting in spinning cube animations, sound etc. Concentrate solely on getting a rock solid VM going. It should NEVER be able to cause a kernel panic. The very thought that it can cause OS X corruption is very scary. If there is a way to do it, not having looked at the code that Parallels is working with if the code traps an exception that would result in a kernel panic I would very much rather that Parallels simply quit. I would rather lose my VM because that I can backup and restore easily enough. But corrupting the OS simply has to stop before I'll be able to use the product. Mark
MarkHolbrook, Be sure that our primary concern is fixing kernel panics and improving Mac OS X stability when running virtual machines. We carefully exemine all your kernel panic reports and do appropriate fixing. We assume that most of reported kernel panics are already fixed in Beta5. We apologize for inconvinience you expirienced when testing our betas!
try newer versions! Mark, I certainly agree with your comment. However, I would suggst you to test newer versions. I have also experienced a log of kernel panics during beta-3, while I don't see any panics in beta4. The stability of beta4 is much better than that of beta3. I look forward to seeing beta5.
