I am having issues connecting through a Proxy server to the outside world using XP Pro on Parallels. I have managed a connection with no Proxies in place through an external WiFi but once behind the company Proxy the problems start. I have given the XP VM a Static IP and filled in the DNS addresses and also in Internet connect pointed the IP Proxy to a config file and also the IP of the Proxy, nothing. I have a feeling that the XP login is the key as on the company PCs all logins are linked to proxy usage etc but I can not see a way of matching the user info to the same as the company login IDs. I can ping another Mac on the same fiewalled network but as soon as I want to ping outside I run into the Username and Password issues. Is there a way to put a Username and Password for the Proxy independantly from the User or is there a way that I can set the machine to either use the normal login details or setup a user to have the same username etc as their normal login. You may ask why not get IT involved? No chance I want to do that. One it would take an age to get a response, then there would be IT want to control the machine and lastly I don't want them to know that we have XP installed as it would all go pair shaped. Large companies......... Many thanks in advance
