Hi Does anybody know what the difference is between Parallels Desktop 9 (£64.99) and Parallels Switch to Mac Essentials (£124.00) and Desktop 9 other than the price?

I have just bought Parallels Switch to Mac Essentials for £124.00 from the Apple store and looking at Desktop 9 form the Parallels website I could have saved myself just under £60.00! Even worse, I thought I was getting the USB cable (to migrate my Windows laptop to a VM) with Switch to Mac Essentials but when I opened the box no cable!!!

    Any help greatly appreciated

The difference between Parallels Desktop 9 for Mac and Parallels Desktop 9 for Mac Switch to Mac edition is that :

Parallels Desktop 9 Switch to Mac Edition comes with a set of complimentary bonus software.

To see Complimentary software that comes with Parallels Desktop 9 Switch to Mac Edition, please check : http://kb.parallels.com/117678

Parallels Desktop 9 for Mac includes only a free 6 months subscription to Parallels Access software and it does not contain any complementary software in it.

    Hi Noels11,

Parallels USB Cable is only available for Parallels Desktop 8 Switch to Mac edition and earlier versions of Parallels Desktop.

You can migrate Windows 7 over network or using an External Storage Device. Please follow the steps suggested at http://kb.parallels.com/115007 to know How to migrate Windows PC to Parallels Desktop Virtual Machine.
