I am a new user of the Parallel Desktop for Mac - I purchased one a few weeks ago and it has been working out alright.... until I must have done something wrong, now the parallels desktop doesnt open, and when I tried to reinstall using the CD, the message I get is that I have driver problems. I was advised to reinstall but I couldnt reinstall with the CD. The CD says there is nothing to install (I suppose it is a driver issue). I am at a loss - how do I retrieve or reinstall my parallels desktop? I emailed Parallels (the company) but I havent gotten any response. Any ideas? Thanks much.
First, check the Parallels build number you are using. If it isn't 1970 or later, download the latest version from this site and install it. Otherwise, run the uninstall that come with it, then reinstall. If that doesn't work, post again with details -- Mac model, processor, installed RAM, guest OS, RAM settings, Parallels build number, and someone will probably be able to help you.
Thanks for info. Parallels desktop is entirely new to me - how do i find out about the "build number" - since my parallels doesnt open. Where can if find it? Or can you send me the link where I can download whatever I need. I am using a Macbook Pro (1.83 core duo; 1GB Ram). Thanks
