Everything was working fine, but I installed some software that made some changes to my machine a few months ago, and now things are working well. I have a macbook pro running windows xp. Internet explorer can access the internet, but none of my apps can. on the mac os side, under networking I don't see the network adaptors that used to be there. I really need to get this up and running asap. I'm trying to use the software as I type this. Can anyone help? I basically need to get it set up like it was when I first installed parallels. Thanks!
Was the software that made changes Mac or Windows software? Did you mean working well or not working well? Internet Explorer in Windows XP can access the internet but none of your other Windows XP apps can? What other apps? Check ipconfig in a cmd window and try ping? Are all your Mac apps working ok? What network adapters do you think are missing in the Network preferences panel? On my Mac, I only have the usual Ethernet 1, Ethernet 2, VPN, External Modem, FireWire, AirPort. Did you try reinstalling Parallels Tools? Did you check the Network adapter option in Virtual Machine -> Configure... -> Hardware -> Network Adapter 1? Maybe try running the Parallels installer from the .dmg. You can download the .dmg manually from the Parallels website.
