Hi there After successfully starting my VM from the Bootcamp partition at least several times, I know get the following error message when trying to start: "More than one Windows partitions are found. This is not a standard Boot Camp configuration. Please refer to the Parallels Desktop for Mac User Guide, Using Boot Camp Windows XP Installation chapter for instructions on how to configure Parallels virtual machine in case of a non-standard Boot Camp configuration on your Macintosh computer" I have looked at this chapter but could not find any reference to this error but what makes this problem even more interesting is that every know and again it will work again. The first time it happened I tried starting the VM a day later and it started up and worked fine. Then after using it problem free for about 2 more days I got the same error again. This pattern has repeated now a few times but the last time it happened I have not been able to start up for over a week. Any ideas on how to resolve this? Thanks
Thanks for that link. Ok, so it seems to have something to do with having an external drive connected at the same time as trying to start my Bootcamp VM. I just disconnected all my external drives and it started up fine. Interesting that once I reconnected the drives, none of them show up under my computer. Hmmm...
If you edit the .pvs file as indicated in the link you can specify which drive to use for the BC partition and it'll work with the drives connected.
Do you know how to edit the .pvs file? Each time I try and open that, it trys to open the virtual machine. Thanks.
