After having major problems with the last update to Parallels 9, I foolishly tried to install the update that was released today. As with the previous update, the process takes two and a half hours or more to complete. It didn't take anywhere close to that long to install the original program. Why does it take so long to update to a new version? I am running the software with Windows 7 on an early 2013 Macbook Pro Retina with a 256gb SSD and 8gb of ram, if it matters. After the update appeared to have completed, I started Parallels and immediately received a message that a new version was available (the same version that had just been installed). I was given the choice to update or use the existing version. I chose the existing version. Rather than starting Parallels, the update process began all over again. Now I have to wait another two and a half hours while the now current version is removed and reinstalled. Does anyone else have these problems? When will there be an update that installs quickly and with no problems?
