Hello, I just downloaded Solaris 10 yesterday (04/06 release DVD). After creating new VM 256 Mb RAM, 8Gb Disk and rest default I started installation. After serious of questions (host name, Time Zone etc) I got this error. There were problems loading the media from /cdrom Solaris installation program exited. Any ideas? Robert
Solaris 10 cd stuff I had some weird problems with various Solaris CD options too. What worked for me was installing from the DVD ISO that I downloaded from Sun (connecting to that image) and then connecting to the vmtools.iso image for the network driver. It seems to work great now.
solaris install Make sure to set the install options for cd eject and reboot to manual. At the end of the first disk it will come to a screen that asks you to reboot. Prior to rebooting, make sure to eject the image for CD 1, and connect the image for CD 2, then reboot. CD 2, 3, and 4 all install during the same session. I used the text based install.
