I have a brand new Windows XP SP2 install disk, but for some reason it installs a somewhat empty version of Windows XP, and ever the Parallels tech support, who were able to install SP3, could make no ground with it.

I cannot get Windows XP to access my network (any advice would be appreciated).

I was able to download and install IE, even though it should have been a part of the XP install, but it cannot access my network.

I tried to install Quicken, but it bailed on that.

    Should I start over?

I am running a MacBook Pro with 8 gigs of ram and the 2.2 gig Intel i7.

    Regards,

I too had problems installing XP SP2 and SP3 with the new parallels for Lion. Very non specific error in IE. I found that if you go to the Microsoft site and manually install SP2, SP3 and the new explorer - all further security updates will work. I am unsure why this is the case, but it is an easy work around. SP2 and SP3 are delivered as separate packages for free at the Microsoft website for IT professionals. Just search for it. Good luck
