I just noticed this error in the VM console running Linux FC5 2.6.16-1.2122_FC5. I am running in level 3 and was not legged to the VM from its console window. What I am doing it ssh to that VM from Mac. I know that linux was idle for some time since I was not doing anything on it but I noticed this message @ the login prompt. new-host login: hda: dma_timer_expiry: dma status == 0x61 hda: DMA timeout error hda: dma timeout error: status=0xc0 {Busy} ide: failed opcode was: unknown ide0: reset: success. Any one noticed this? can you scan in your syslog for this?
