I thought when Parallels 4 is not in use....open but set to 'Hide' in dock it would not be using a lot of CPU....mine is justing sitting idle but huge prl_vm_app is using 800+MB of Real Memory....Is there anything I can do in 4.0? Thanks

Will upgrade to 5.0 if this problem is solved! Thanks

When you hide a Mac application you just hide it from the screen. It's still active and running, it's just not showing its windows. When you play a movie and hide the player app, the movie will still play and the player will still use memory and processor power... you just can't see its output - since you've just told the Mac to hide it.

So this is perfectly expected behaviour.
