Attempting to resize my Windows XP container to support Windows 8, I was told that the container couldn't be resized as Windows had snapshots. Following the Parallels knowledgebase instructions, I deleted said snapshot(s) and then proceeded to restart windows. Upon trying to restart, I get the error message prl_err_disk_not_valid_offset. I can click OK. Then, when I select to start Windows, I get the same error message again. What broke? This is using Parallels 8, latest version.
Seems like virtual HD got corrupted. I'd suggest the following steps: 1. Make a backup: http://kb.parallels.com/en/8829 2. Start from Win8 CD and run chkdsk: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TbAfn4heGhE 3. Run Fixboot and Fixmbr commands if chkdsk doesn't help
