Dear Parallels people I have a MacBook Pro with 2 Gb RAM running Snow Leopard and Parallels 5 with Vista Business. My old HP 4100 series printer works absolutely fine when printing from Vista. I am very pleased with Parallels 5 in the Crystal view. Unfortunately I can no longer connect from my Mac OSX software to the HP printer since the Snow Leopard upgrade. This is a problem documented elsewhere. I have tried everything and yes, I cold reset the printer to make sure the IP address was the same between the printer's card and my local network. So now I would like to tell the Mac to print via Windows Vista since that all works ok. I have checked that the printer is shared in Windows. However I am not getting any option via Mac system preferences - add printer to tell it to find the printer via the virtual machine. Is this possible? If so how? I would appreciate a step-by-step set of instructions on this. Thank you. I don't know why the moderator of this forum recently didn't allow my posting of the step by step solution for upgrading from Parallels 2.x/Tiger to Parallels 5/Snow Leopard, by the way, as I thought that was rather useful information! Never mind... Imogen
the new drivers with Leopard do not support old HP printers, goto Leopard website to see what printers it will support. I worked around it with my HP 2840 all-in one printer by reinstalling the old drivers.
