Printing from Parallels works the 1st time, not 2nd

Hello Everyone--

My apologies if this has been addressed before. I did not see the exact same symptoms in my searching. Mainly, I'm curious if I have a Parallels issue, or simply a CUPS issue. Here's the setup & symptoms:

iMac C2D running 10.5.2
Parallels 3.0 (very recent, if not latest build)
Windows XP
HP LaserJet 6P printer (printing via HPIJS, Foomatic, and Gutenprint)

I have the printer working well when printing from the Mac side of things. I can print and print again w/o having to interact w/ the printer queue. In Parallels, I can print once, but the 2nd time, the printer queue comes up, then bounces in the Dock w/ a red exclamation mark. If I Pause the printer, then Resume, the job will go through. This isn't an unworkable situation, but highly annoying to the end user. The CUPS log mentions something about No %%Pages: comment in header!

Any idea if this is a specific-to-Parallels issue? Or CUPS? If the latter, why does it only occur in Parallels. Thanks for any help. Below is the CUPS log. Job #55 is the first one, which is successful. Job #56 is the one where I had to toggle the printer queue.
