For some reason my printer - Lexmark E250dn - goes offline frequently when I switch between Mac programs and Parallels. For that reason I do not leave my VM running, but close it everytime I am done working with my time/billing program or WordPerfect. What is causing the printer to go offline? How can I prevent it from going offline?

    Thanks,

    Hello Mike,

Your printer can go offline when you shut down Windows if it is connected to VM directly through USB.

Did you try to set printer through Parallel Port?

Alternatively you can disconnect your printer each time you are going to shut down Windows (Parallels Desktop menu bar -> Devices).

    Or change printer's drivers settings.

    Best regards,

Can you be a bit more specific?

What exactly needs to be done to set the printer through the Parallel port?

Disconnecting the printer when shutting down is really a PITA... so that is out...

What specifically needs to change in the printer's drivers settings?

BTW... I am having the same problem with the COO of my company, telling him to disconnect his printer isn't going to work.... so a quick suggestion on the other two would be nice.

    Thanks

    John

John, Could you please clarify your Parallels Desktop version?
Hard to guess what to suggest without knowing the version at least
