    I'm having the now infamous, wait 5-10 sec, error message when trying to use USB. Seeing it worked fine with my previous parallels build I would like to get my hands on an older installer. Does anyone know where to get it?

    I also tried the kextstat sollution which worked once briefly but I have been unable to get it working since then.

    About USB:
    1. Try to download this 1970 build of Parallels Desktop for Mac
    http://www.parallels.com/en/download/desktop/update and uptade your
    guest Windows.

    2. Make sure that you installed the appropriate drivers into the guest OS

    3. One more thing you may try - disconnect the device from the VM and
    connect it again. This could help guest Windows see the device finally.

    4. Also this maybe happens because Mac takes control over the USB device
    before the VM has a chance to catch it. Once it happens, it's not so
    easy to take the device from Mac.

    5. The following workarounds are possible although would require some
    technical skills:
    - If not, set the "Autoconnect USB devices" option to ON for virtual USB
    device.
    - Try thinking of a Mac native program that could be taking the device
    before Parallels has a chance to catch it. Try closing this program. For
    example, if you're going to use iPod with the VM, close the iTunes
    before to connect the device to the VM.
    - If it is possible, try ejecting the device from Mac OS X.
    Be careful! This workaround does not apply to iPod. Having iPod ejected
    from OS X would prevent you from connecting it to the VM.
    - If you're a skilled user, try unloading driver in the primary OS that
    might be taking control over the USB device.

    6. Bear in mind that actual Parallels Desktop USB implementation is not
    ideal and it lacks support for some USB modes. Below is the list of the
    devices that do not work in current USB implementation:
    - USB devices working on isochronous protocols, such as web cameras;
    - Human Interface Devices, such as keyboards, mice, trackpads, pens etc.
    This doesn't mean you won't be able to use USB keyboards and mice at
    all, but means that you won't be able to connect the devices directly to
    the VM;
    - USB devices that require more then one interface, such as some USB
    BlueTooth adapters, Smartphones and PDAs controlled by Windows Mobile2005;
    - Blackberry devices - the connection will be broken, if device gets
    asleep. The only workaround would be to press any Blackberry key each 5
    seconds or so;
    - Two USB devices simultaneously in some rare cases can work
    incorrectly. Guest OS in this case may freeze until you leave only one
    device. If this has occurred, disconnect one of USB devices.
