Hi All. I have the new Parallels Desktop 11 for Mac Pro Edition and am having an issue with Power Saving / Sleep Mode. My Mac is doc in a Hedge Doc for Mac Retina Pro. This the power is always on. I leave the mac for the night and turn the screen saver on. I come back, move the mouse and poof my Mac wakes up instantly and is alive. My Windows Vista Virtual machine then takes 60 seconds to wake up and Parallels Desktop Control Center is spinning. I checked another post that said the power settings are from the virtual machine. However, launching the Control Panel in Windows shows it on the Parallels power Save Scheme shows never put to sleep. What am I missing?
Hello DavidS11, Open Configuration menu of your Virtual Machine: Go to Action menu ->Configure ->Options ->Optimization-> Power and from the drop down menu choose 'Longer battery life" and go to the Hardware tab, click Graphics in the sidebar and clear the Enable 3D acceleration checkbox. Following these steps will help you save up to 1.5-2 hours of battery life. Of course, this configuration won't let you run any "graphics heavy" software, so if you need to use 3D applications, the video settings should be left as the default.
