Power Loss Trashed Ability to Open OS

A power loss last night with Parallels open running WinXP Pro appears to have trashed the config file. Making a new VM and using the existing drive image did the trick in getting me back up and running but the OS insisted on reactivation. Is there a more elegant way of fixing such a problem?

 

It trashed your config file? Make a new one and point it at your old .hdd file.
