    hello,

im a bit confused as to what to do, so im just looking for a little help with this one.

i have backtrack 2 installed within parallels. im trying to use an alfa AWUS036H set up as a network adapter which the virtual machine can manage (not shared) i believe "bridged is what im looking for. i am confused as the driver listed in the network configuration dialog box is not the correct one for the AWUS036H.

the alfa should be plug and play with bt2. it shows up as eth0, however.

a little help with parallels and the way it handles sub wifi devices (if you can use other ralink drivers) and help if possible getting the device (the alfa AWUS036H) to show up as something other than eth0 would be great.

suggestions or links would be greatly appreciated

    just a quick update...

a little bit of rtfm and some testing and ive figured this out.

i was trying to run the alfa usb wifi adapter in parallels as a virtual network device and it was trying to use the pci driver which wouldnt work as you could imagine. i found that by setting the alfa up through the usb sharing option it works. the os sees the adapter and is able to use it...
