I have a MacBook, and installed Parallels. I then installed on old version of XP services Pack 1a, and then realized i would have to pay for the old operating system and it would not run the new software I need. THus I purchased Window Vista Home Premium. In reading the Parallels documentation, I do not see how to un-install the XP.

    Please help

    THanks

    Hello,

if you have a Windows XP virtual machine, you can upgrade to one of the supported Windows Vista. During such an upgrade-in-place only the operating system itself will be affected, and you don't have to reinstall all the applications in the virtual machine.
To upgrade to Windows Vista correctly you should do the following:

    1. Launch Parallels Desktop for Mac.
    2. Open your virtual machine and log in to the Windows XP operating system.
    3. Choose Actions menu > Prepare Windows Vista Upgrade from Parallels Desktop menu.
    4. Insert the Windows Vista upgrade CD and follow the wizard's instructions.
    5. When you're finished with the necessary preparations, the virtual machine automatically starts.

Upgrading to Windows Vista starts. Follow the on-screen instructions.

But unused_user_name is right and Windows EULA doesn't allow to virtualize Vista Home, so, you better choose another Vista version.

    Best regards,
    Alicia.
