    This is just an idea:

    Back in the day, when Macs only had MB of RAM rather than GB, there were techniques to increase performance speed.

    For example, it was possible on the Performa series to install more RAM than the Mac's System could actually address.

    That extra RAM was useless to the System, but a third-party app was able to address that space by creating a RAM disk.

    I have a 2006 MacBook Pro. It could accept 4GB of RAM chips but due to firmware limitations can only address 2GB.

    It occurred to me that the Parallels engineers could, perhaps, find a way to access a RAM disk from Windows 7 and make use of that extra space.
