I'm running Parallels Desktop 4.0.3540 with a virtual VM running WinXP SP2.
The computer is a Macbook Pro 2,53 GHz, 4 GB RAM, Mac OS 10.5.5.

Since I upgraded my virtual machine image from Parallels 3 to 4, Visual Studio 2008 SP1 freezes a few times a day. It seems to happen especially if I open the app but let it sit at the start page for a while and then click on one of my recent projects, but it has frozen when I have been working on a project and then left the app for a while.

To get VS2008 running again I need to use task manager to force-quit the app (rest of Windows still works fine) and then restart the VM. If I don't restart the VM after VS2008 has frozen and been force-quit, the app just freezes again at the Visual Studio splash box shown while it is launching. In this state the app doesn't appear in the Applications list in Task Manager because it hasn't opened up any windows yet, so I have to instead terminate the devenv.exe process.

Any suggestions on what might cause this and what error messages / log files I could look at to get a hint about the freezes?

Having the same issue with build 4.0.3846, visual studio 2008 will freeze until I kill parallels tools process and then It works normally, wonder if there is a fix for this.
