Hey, I know there are hundreds of threads and posts on this now, but I've gotten to the point where I'm so frustrated I can't stand to search anymore. I've probably already read the majority of threads on this problem. Starting off, here is my setup... - Newest Generation Macbook Pro running OSX 10.5.2 - Parallels Desktop 3.0 Build 5584 - Windows XP SP2 (Fully updated) I have my MBP set up so I have a bootcamp partition with Windows XP installed on it. I installed parallels while the bootcamp partition was already installed. This worked like a dream for about a week or two. I loved it. I could boot into my physical partition to play my single game I play... and the occasional ghostcast server use. When I needed just a few little apps from the mac side I would just start it up with parallels in coherence mode. One day it just decided to bomb. I got the classic hal.dll error, which I am now FULLY informed on. I have seen it all so far. I had a lot of problems with that so I decided to wipe and start over (this sucked... It took a while to get up the gonads to do it). I uninstalled parallels, got rid of my bootcamp partition and threw away all of the parallel settings saved in the documents folder. It was clean of everything windows and parallels. I started by setting up my bootcamp partition again. I got that working perfectly. I also set up dual hardware profiles, hoping that it would at least save my bootcamp partition if parallels bombed again. I reinstalled parallels. It started this time, this was very exciting. I did not have any response from the mouse at first, and came across the other, ever so popular, activation problem. Luckily I could activate it again, and on the restart the mouse worked. Parallels was running, but without the parallels tools it was ugly. I installed the tools, and it started up to the desktop, with all icons showing. Explorer clearly had started. Something afterwards froze parallels. I just got the spinning color-wheel of doom... and then froze my Mac side also. My entire laptop was completely locked up. Luckily the hardware profile thing did save my @$$ and bootcamp is working properly. I am just extremely frustrated at this point... I have read over a GREAT deal of threads and posts... and have (what it feels like) followed every walkthrough known to man to fix these problems. To the Parallels support people: To me it kinda sounds like a Parallels Tools issue... are there any know problems? I hope there are some suggestions. I don't mean to rant, and I don't mean to come across as rude. Thank you for your time.
