Hi there, after i've installed Parallels on Ubuntu 7.10 the Version 2.2.222 is running very good. But after updating the Software over synaptic, I've installed three parallels packages. # parallels 2.2.2224-1gutsy1 - https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/gu...ry/010148.html I got the following error when i'am start my VM Parallels Workstation Error occurred while trying to interact with Parallels driver! Parallels Workstation is either not installed or/and configured or has integrity problems, which prevent it from operating properly. Please reinstall the Parallels Workstation. If i uninstall the packages and install again the version from your download section all is working again. I've tryed that on my 2 PC's. First fresh install. Same Error Second update over existing Parallels Version. Same Error. Could you help me out, so that i could use the newer Version (updated packages) please. many thx in advance Regards Frank
If you have such error you need to do either: a) run 'sudo parallels-config' b) Install parallels-2.2.2224-1gutsy1 again
Thx for the answer but parallels is still not working. I've tried that more times. when i did the sudo parallels-config and installing again the parallels package, following error occured after starting parallels. "Attention! The configuration file /usr/lib/parallels/.dhcpd_configuration, which contains network bridge options, was not found or is not accessible in the application's home directory /usr/lib/parallels/. Please login as root to run the parallels configuration program." Then when i start my VM: "Error occurred while trying to interact with Parallels driver! Parallels Workstation is either not installed or/and configured or has integrity problems, which prevent it from operating properly. Please reinstall the Parallels Workstation." Any other idea ?
I'm getting the same thing on 2 different Ubuntu 7.10 machines. The Error occurred while trying to interact with Parallels driver. I've done parallels-config on both, and have re-installed parallels-2.2.2224-1 Other help? I would really like to utilze parallels.
I found that running the "updated" version from Synaptics causes a host of problems that make it worthless. Uninstall and go back to build 2222 directly from Parallels. Then comment out the Canonical partners repositories from /etc/sources.list to keep it from trying to update constantly. Worked good for me, although Ubuntu still locks up for no apparent reason when using 2.2 (release v3 already!).
You are so right. I install the "parallels.com" version and it works straight out...ok so there is something wrong then with the canonical version...just as an fyi to all Thanks for the tidbit
Since last night updated Parallels Version over Synaptic all is working great for me again. THX to the Bug trackers
