Since you can now use Parallels to run XP from a Boot Camp installation of XP,
and since Boot Camp now supports Vista,

could you now install Vista on top of XP and then access it with Parallels?

I am guessing not since Parallels tinkers with the Boot.ini file to make itself work with an XP installation in Boot Camp, whereas Vista has an entirely new boot loader. Parallels would have to tinker with the new Vista boot loader to make this dual boot option work I would assume. And if they could do that, then they could make Vista running by itself in a Boot camp 1.2 installation accessible from Parallels as well. I am sure they must be working on this.

If Vista could use the XP boot loader then I am sure it would be possible, but I don't think there is hope in this method.

Just thought I would ask to confirm and or clarify for anyone interested in attempting this type of setup.

Well, it sounds as if some people have gotten it to work... It is still unsupported. Prowl the forums a bit searching for 'Vista' and/or 'BootCamp' and/or 'Boot Camp' and/or 'BC' . It should pull up some links for you.

    Cheers!
