I was using parallels desktop for some time and decided to install the upgrade to increase cd drive usability. Ive installed the latest vestion of desktop, but now it is asking for my activation key. Unfortunately I no longer have the key, will it be somewhere in the system registry? If so where/how could I find it? thanks in advance trev
The system registry applies to Windows, not Parallels, so if it's the Parallels activation key you need, it isn't in the registry. If you are outside North America, and are installing a beta, your Parallels key won't work anyway so you need to get a trial key from Parallels. If you are in North America, and you deleted the /library/parallels folder, you deleted the license file with it, and will need your key. You might be able to get help by writing to Parallels. I'd try [email protected] first. In general, activation keys are valuable, and in many cases not replaceable, and should be treated as such and carefully preserved. You wouldn't throw out an install disk -- treat activation keys the same way.
