Product: Parallels Desktop for Mac 4.x
    Build number: 3810
Host OS: Mac OS X 10.4.x Tiger
Guest OS/Remote OS: Windows XP Professional
Guest OS amount of memory: 1024
    Type of computer: iMac
    Computer RAM: 2 - 4GB
Description: I upgraded from Parallels 3 to 4. I installed Parallels tools. The installation and upgrade appeared to go properly. However, several of the Tools do not work: Dynamic Resolution Tool, Mouse Synchronization Tool, and Coherence mode do NOT function. I have search your support database and do not see anything that addresses this. I have reinstalled tools several times without success. I also see that this is a common theme in the forums postings.

    Please advise.

It could be various reasons for that kind of behaviour.

    General troubleshooting is the following:
    1. Temporary uninstall any kind of anti-virus you might have.
    2. Uninstall Parallels Tools completely, from Add/Remove programs
    3. In Virtual Machine -> Configure check that virtual machine OS type and version are set properly.
    3. Install Parallels Tools back.

Also you may check in Start -> Control Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager that there are no error marks of any kind.

If that would not help, I would suggest to create a ticket in our support line ao that we would investigate closer what might be causing this.

Thank you for your suggestions. see below...

    >>>1. Temporary uninstall any kind of anti-virus you might have.

I do not have an anti-virus program installed.

    >>>2. Uninstall Parallels Tools completely, from Add/Remove programs
I did this and it didn't resolve the problems.

    >>>3. In Virtual Machine -> Configure check that virtual machine OS type and version are set properly.
    they are set correctly

    >>>3. Install Parallels Tools back.
I did this and it didn't resolve the problem.

    >>If that would not help, I would suggest to create a ticket in our support line so that we would investigate closer what might be causing this.
I did this. the steps that were suggested are above. the problem has not been resolved.

    Please advise,

I reinstalled a video driver and now all appears to be working properly.
