Title says it all, really: how about a version of Parallels that runs on a Vista machine and creates a virtual machine in which you install MacOS X? Why would this be cool? Among other reasons, because Apple does not make an ultralite laptop right now . . . but Sony and Toshiba make some nice ones. CH
Parallels really runs on both Windows and Mac, as well as it does run on Linux. This topic was discussed many times here and in many different places on the web. Search it. Until Apple's EULA doesn't allow to start OSX in the virtualized environment - it's not something legal to talk about.
tacit_one, thanks for the reply and info. I did some brief searching before I posted, didn't try hard enough I guess. Too bad Apple is preventing what I wished for! (I know Parallels has a version that runs on Windows - but since installing MacOS X was never mentioned as a possibility, I didn't know if it was b/c of Parallels Workstation or b/c of Apple). CH
Vista's EULA also prohibits the installation of Vista as a virtual machine, but it's done anyway. At least the Mac version of Parallels should be able to run OS X.
This is not right. Vista EULA allows installation in the virtualized environment. Please, read it carefully - there only some limitations on versions of Vista to be installed in the VM.
