Parallels Desktop 9 won't reclaim space on Ubuntu 14.04 (using Mac OS X 10.9.4)

I have just installed Ubuntu 14.04 on a late model 2012 iMac running Mac OS X 10.9.4 Mavericks using Parallels Desktop 9. When I go to the General tab to "Reclaim..." disk space there is never any space available. Even though Linux reports space not in use. Can someone over there look into this? I need to backup my Linux on a daily basis and right now the distribution is taking up over 25 gig of space, most of it is not being used.

But the meter on the General tab indicates that it needs 23.4 GB. I have an earlier version of Linux installed (Ubuntu 12.04.4) and it's General tab reports 25.8 GB in use but 7.2 GB is reclaimable.

For some reason Parallels Desktop is not picking up on the actual free space on 14.04. Given that 14.04 is the latest version of Ubuntu I am not surprised that this little quirk exists. My question is, is there anyone over at Parallels that can address this issue as the additional space requirements is rather annoying.
