Hello, parallels-config loops foever. I ran the command manual and get the following: (mini) [/usr/lib/parallels/drivers/hypervisor] make -C /lib/modules/2.6.17-rc3/build SUBDIRS=/usr/lib/parallels/drivers/hypervisor SRCROOT=/usr/lib/parallels/drivers/hypervisor modules && mv -f hypervisor.ko hypervisor.o make: Entering directory `/home/sithglan/work/mini/linux-2.6' make -C /lib/modules/2.6.17-rc3/build SUBDIRS=/home/sithglan/work/mini/linux-2.6 SRCROOT=/home/sithglan/work/mini/linux-2.6 modules && mv -f hypervisor.ko hypervisor.o make -C /lib/modules/2.6.17-rc3/build SUBDIRS=/home/sithglan/work/mini/linux-2.6 SRCROOT=/home/sithglan/work/mini/linux-2.6 modules && mv -f hypervisor.ko hypervisor.o make -C /lib/modules/2.6.17-rc3/build SUBDIRS=/home/sithglan/work/mini/linux-2.6 SRCROOT=/home/sithglan/work/mini/linux-2.6 modules && mv -f hypervisor.ko hypervisor.o make -C /lib/modules/2.6.17-rc3/build SUBDIRS=/home/sithglan/work/mini/linux-2.6 SRCROOT=/home/sithglan/work/mini/linux-2.6 modules && mv -f hypervisor.ko hypervisor.o make -C /lib/modules/2.6.17-rc3/build SUBDIRS=/home/sithglan/work/mini/linux-2.6 SRCROOT=/home/sithglan/work/mini/linux-2.6 modules && mv -f hypervisor.ko hypervisor.o ... has anyone an idea howto debug this? Thomas
I saw this problem before. I circumvented this problem by using kernel 2.6.12.5 which works for me like a charm. I have two ideas what is going wrong here: First is that the provided build infrastructure for the parallels kernel drivers are just broken, or that are some symbols which were available in 2.6.12.5 are no longer available in later versions which causes a compile problem and the build infrastructure loops forever. However I wasn't able to get a compiler error, but I didn't tried that hard either. Thomas <>
Same problems here. Anyone get paralles to work with the suse linux 2.6.16.13 kernel. don't want to downgrade my kernel as a work around----any comments from the parallels team? ?
Now we got an reaction from paralles team. I hope we now get soon the answers to this problem. Look at http://forum.parallels.com/thread2121.html There is another thread with the same problem too http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?t=1692
I found and fixed the problem: http://thomas.glanzmann.de/parallels/ please reply on email if you have something to say to
