Parallels "calling home"

I have disabled disabled "check for updates" in build 6.0.11990 because Parallels is working well for me as is, and I do not want to run into any upgrade issues (this is a mission critical work machine).

Despite disabling automatic updates, Parallels tries to get through my work internet proxy on startup, and then randomly during the day. This is very annoying, and disrupts my workflow during the day. This computer is used in a hospital environment, and having parallels calling home when ive asked it not to is troubling.

Is there a way to completely disable this? Is this built-in registration/activation checking? My install of parallels is registered and properly activated. There is no reason this program should need to access the internet without my knowledge.. ever.
